embracing

the digger & the dreamer

Welcome to

The Dig On Series:
Exploring Consciousness
through Osteopathy

The purpose of The Dig On Series of osteopathic courses is to help integrate the Loving Heart, Innovative Mind, and Stillness of Spirit into osteopathy. Our mission is to help bring the digger and dreamer together so they are One. As osteopathic physicians, we have the honor of working with all human beings in a way that empowers them to express their own Inner Light of Health.

We choose to start from the Stillness, the Infinite Potential of pure Loving Awareness. In being Still, we get to know ourselves better and allow ourselves TO BE the Truth of who we are – loving conscious beings, all precious emanations of the Oneness. And through this series, we step into the ease of Osteopathy such that “suns appear (where you never even saw a star.)”

We look forward to connecting and sharing with you in this “sacred science of Osteopathy.”

About Dr. Gladys McGarey

Dr. Gladys McGarey, MD, MD( H), was born in 1920 and is internationally recognized as the Mother of Holistic Medicine. As a founding diplomate of the American Board of Holistic Medicine, she has had a family practice for more than seventy years, through which time she has tirelessly championed holistic medicine, natural birthing, and the physician-patient partnership. She is the cofounder and past president of the American Holistic Medical Association (now called the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine), cofounder of the Academy of Parapsychology and Medicine, and was one of the first Western doctors to regularly utilize acupuncture in the United States. Dr. Gladys was also an early advocate for home birth. Her innovations for natural birth include the Baby Buggy program, founded in 1978, which featured a fully equipped paramedical and emergency transport vehicle for home births, and pushed the Arizona hospital system to welcome partners into the delivery room.

For decades, she has worked closely with Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE). In 1970, she cofounded the ARE Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she pioneered the integration of allopathic and holistic medical practices, laying the groundwork for the cultural shift that recognizes alternative and holistic medical modalities. She also cofounded the Scottsdale Holistic Medical Group. Dr. Gladys’s work continues through the Foundation for Living Medicine, a nonprofit that works to expand the knowledge and application of holistic principles through scientific research and education.

Dr. Gladys lives and works in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she has recently become a great-great-grandmother. She currently has a life consultation practice, maintains a healthy diet, and achieves a daily 3,800 steps with her walker. She rides a tricycle named Red Bird and enjoys a good piece of cake now and then.

The Well-Lived Life is available via paperback or hardback on Amazon.

About her book The Well-Lived Life

On these pages, Dr. McGarey shares her six actionable secrets to enjoying lives that are long, happy, and purpose-driven:

  • Spend your energy wildly: How to embrace your life fully and feel motivated every day.

  • All life needs to move: How to move—spiritually, mentally, and physically—to help let go of trauma and other roadblocks.

  • You are here for a reason: How to find the everyday “juice” that helps you stay oriented in your life’s purpose.

  • You are never alone: How to build a community that’s meaningful to you.

  • Everything is your teacher: Discover the deep learnings that come from pain and setbacks.

  • Love is the most powerful medicine: Learn to love yourself—and others—into healing.

In a voice that is both practical and inspiring, Dr. McGarey shares her own extraordinary stories and eternal wisdom—from her early childhood in India and a chance encounter with Mahatma Gandhi to her life as a physician and a mother of six, to her survival of both heartbreak and illness. Dr. Gladys shares her inspiring vision for a healthier and more joyful future for us all, filled with “rich and complex truths that will resonate with readers’ hearts and minds” (Dr. Robert Waldinger, New York Times bestselling author).

A patient’s story (after using the emotional release concepts you will learn in Sensing & Releasing Emotional Shock)

As a Health Educator and Chronic Disease Prevention Expert, I have been to many healers in my day, but Dr. Arlene Dijamco stands out from the rest.

In about 10 minutes, a 40-year block was cleared. I felt it in my body and was no longer triggered. Dr. Dijamco is a truly gifted healer that intuitively knows how to help her patients work through negative thinking patterns that no longer serve them. I can't thank her enough. If you're ready and motivated for change, Dr. Dijamco can be the remedy to help you achieve a sense of intuitive healing that is enduring.
